Ooh lala! The bridal gowns for 2012 have arrived and here are the Top 10 trends I am seeing for this year.  I am super excited with all the sparkle, glamour and sexiness presented by some of the top wedding gown designers. I feel super inspired with my bridal jewelry collections this year with all of the beautiful new wedding gown designs!

1. Capped sleeves are very in this year. I love the artistic use of lace and white stretch mesh materials with embellishments being used to create this effect.  I have always thought capped sleeves provide a sexy and elegant look so it is wonderful to see them being used. I really loved this gown by Reem Acra with the lace capped sleeves..

2. Corset style wedding gowns are even more prevalent this year.  Designers are offering a multitude of corset style gowns. I love corset style dresses as they are not only slimming and sexy but also allow for a little more latitude for that final fitting. There are styles that can work for everyone, from crystal beaded to sheer and sexy to lace embellished. This beautiful gown by Monique Lhuillier exemplifies that sexy can be mixed with elegant creating a dreamy look.

3. More sparkle!  Yes, some are referring to the new crystal beaded dresses as the “disco sparkle gowns”. Now don’t let that phrase steer you in the wrong direction as these gowns are absolutely glorious and regal in their design. I am all about the sparkle of course.  This was one of my favorite gowns by designer Anne Bowen and is found in the language of love collection.

4. Capelets are being added as a way to cover the shoulders. They are an alternative to a shrug and I absolutely love this vintage feel this look offers.  Capelets were popular in the 1950’s and even going back into the 1800’s. This dress with capelet is  by designer Elizabeth Fillmore and was one of my favorite looks. Of course I am always drawn to the vintage elegant romantic look.

5. Designers have been also creating wedding gowns that have sheer materials with crystal and beaded embellishments which create a beautiful visual illusion.  Here is a gorgeous designer gown by Marcheesa that adds subtle embellishments to the neckline which creates a very unique effect.

6. Deep V necklines for front and back continue to be a favorite. This year many designers have taken the plunge even lower.

7. Lace details and overlays continue to always be a classic favorite and adds the romantic touch. I love the deep V cut on this Jim Hjelm bridal gown. The lace embellishments give a dreamy look to this dress.

8. The use of fringe is a new twist for adding fun movement and also a vintage look this year.  Fringe is being used as an overlay over fabric and also free flowing as you see in this beautiful gown by designer Pnina Tornia. This dress has so much sparkle and movement in real life. I love it!

9. Color also seems to be coming back in the form of Taupe, Tans and Blush colors. I absolutely am in love with with beautiful Vera Wang Hayden gown which has soft taupe tones and amazing design details. The dress floats effortlessly.

10. Lastly, high slits are definitely being seen this year in straight style flared gowns and also in full ball room style bridal gowns. You are able to choose from nay of the designers as to how high you would like the slit.  I love the sleek elegant lines of this Maggie Sottero gown.

It’s that time of year again to start getting ready to show the 2012 new bridal and bridesmaid jewelry and hair accessory lines at the annual Seattle Wedding Show.  This is Seattle’s own Looney Maiden Jewelry’s 9th year participating in what I consider one of the best shows here in the Pacific Northwest. It is a show well worth while for every bride to attend.

For brides, grooms and their family and friends, I highly recommend attending this show if you are looking for high quality vendors for all facets of your wedding day ceremony and honeymoon.  The Seattle Wedding show highly screens their vendors and expects a high level of professionalism.

Giving pearl bridesmaid jewelry sets is such a lovely gift to your dearest of girlfriends who are there to support you on your most special day. Seattle Wedding Photographer Rebecca Ellison took gorgeous photographs of Looney Maiden Wedding Jewelry worn by one of my local brides Alison. I must share Alison is not only absolutely gorgeous and has the most delightful personality and bubbly energy. It is always a delight to see the final look and these photos took my breath away.  From capturing the moment of the bride opening up her jewelry box, the photos were so touching. I felt like I was there.

The ceremony took place at the Monte Villa Farm house which is located just outside of Seattle!  The ceremony took place outside in a garden setting and reception in the beautiful ball room.

You can see in the first picture the fabulous bridal gown Alison is wearing and the accompanying pearl and crystal necklace along with the chandelier earrings were chosen for the delicate beaded look and texture to match her gown’s beading. All put together, this created a soft, feminine and very romantic look. 

For the brides wedding hair accessories, she decided on an up do and beautiful pearl and crystal hair pins were added in those luscious curls. She has the most amazing hair which was perfect in the style she wore. Just enough pearls and sparkle were added.

So here is one of the picture perfect moments, what a beautiful couple they are. The picture below is fabulous with the capturing of all those bubbles. You can see how much fun everyone had celebrating them on their special day.

Ooh la la, now let’s have fun adding in Pink Bridal Jewelry and Hair accessories into your wedding day look!  Pink is not only a color of romance and love but is also a color of femininity, soft and sweet. Adding some pink to your accessories can create a beautiful soft and romantic palette to your wedding day look. In the picture below is a soft pink pearl and crystal wedding necklace which is a lovely soft combination which keeps the pink more pastel.

Adding colors to one’s custom Bridal Jewelry is a frequent request I receive as more and more brides are choosing to add a splash of their wedding day or accent color to their jewelry accessories. You can choose to be bold with lots of color or use color as an accent to your jewels.

Above is a lovely example of adding in the bridal party’s dress color which was David’s Bridal Clover.  A beautiful light emerald green crystal added just the right amount of color to this bridal jewelry set special. This bride also had a sash on her wedding gown in the clover color so she wanted to bring the colors all together. I am anxious to see the pictures from her wedding.

Go bold with reds! Whether you have a red sash on your wedding gown or your bridal party is in David’s bridal Apple or Alfred Angelo’s Claret dress colors, you can add color to your wedding day jewelry and make a statement.

You may also choose to add your color into one wedding jewelry item such as your bracelet. Many brides choose to do this as they prefer to have their necklace and earrings in classic Clear Swarovski crystal for their portrait pictures and yet add the fun factor of the color to their whole look.
